Wedding Photography Nottingham-Conference Centre
Nottingham Conference Centre
Back in mid August I found myself photographing a wedding at the Nottingham Conference Centre. It was Andy and Katie’s big day. I first met the couple at our pre-wedding meeting ten months before the day. Andy and Katie were keen to have their wedding photographed in a totally unobtrusive way. They both really liked my documentary wedding photography and made an instant decision on booking me as their photographer. It was an absolute pleasure capturing it all for them. A whole day was very relaxed and a positive vibe was in the air from morning preparations till late evening. I started with some photographs of the Bride and her girls getting ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel which is literally across the road from the venue. Andy was also staying at the hotel and he soon arrived proudly at the Conference Centre. The Chemistry Theater room quickly got filled with guests and the ceremony began. After happy vows, rings exchange and registry signing the very formal part of the day was over. There was some time for everyone to mingle and guests played garden games. Some of those games were actually re-invented when kids got involved. When everybody was called back into the room for a wedding breakfast the court yard filled with a delicious summery BBQ smell. Speeches took place after the meal and it wasn’t long for the evening to begin. After the first dance I captured guests having a good time on dance floor. Loaded with a positive energy I disappeared into the night with a smile on my face.
Nottingham Conference Centre is a part of two of Nottingham Trent University’s iconic listed buildings, Newton and Arkwright. It went through a multi-million pound re-development back in 2010 and it soon became one of the East Midlands’ premier events venue. Its great design combines old architectures with contemporary add-ons. It looks very impressive and all together made a good background for Andy and Katie’s wedding photography.
“Martin, I picked up the photos today and we had some people round for the first viewing and we absolutely love them. It was like reliving the day all over again which was exactly what we wanted. There are so many favourites it’s hard to pick individual ones out and it looks like you got at least one great photo of everyone so we’re getting them on FB now so they can all see them. Thanks so much for capturing our special day for us. We shall recommend you to every one for every occasion!”
