Belvoir Castle Asian Wedding Photography

A while ago, I found myself shooting an Asian wedding at Belvoir Castle alongside Kristian Leven. Incredibly talented documentary wedding photographer, and a guy loaded with tons of positive energy. When Kristian asked me to photograph this wedding with him, it was an instant yes from me. I’ve always admired his photography. I knew it was going to be a good one. I absolutely love photographing Indian weddings for their energy, passion, vibrance and great atmosphere. The Belvoir Castle dates back to the eleventh century. It is a home of the Duke of Rutland, where the famil have lived in an unbroken line for nearly a thousand years. Set on top of the hill, the castle’s building and its towers rise over the Vale of Belvoir and can be seen for miles from the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The name Belvoir means ‘beautiful view’ in French, and it is pronounced as ‘beaver’.

The day itself? Just wow! The Belvoir castle it’s so unique and perfect for wedding photography. Jame’s and Kavita’s big celebrations provided everything what we could have asked for, it was full on! Started early in the morning and 15 hour shooting seemed not to be exhausting at all, it was rather buzzing. I was photographing groom’s morning while Kristian was capturing bride and the girls getting ready. The Hindi ceremony took place at the lakeside marquee, followed by the civil ceremony in the main castle and drinks reception in the gardens. Then, we all headed back to the marquee for the evening celebrations. The crowd knew how to party!
