Rich + Emily

This time, my Leicester wedding photography took me to Groby. I had a great pleasure of documenting the marriage blessing of Rich and Emily. The church wedding itself happened the day before in a very intimate atmosphere. Rich and Emily were blessed in front of the wider audience on Saturday. It all took place at a very special location. The Old Hall and its grounds hosted both the blessings and marquee reception. The house has a great history behind it and dates back to 15th century. Now Emily’s parents live in The Old Hall and I must say they have done an amazing job bringing it back to its shape. Apparently not that long ago the place was uninhabitable.

As often is the case I started photographing well before the ceremony to capture the build up. While Rich was preparing a pitch for sports day games, also making sure other things outside were perfect, Emily was getting ready with her sister at the house. The blessing took place literally next to the church where Rich and Emily had said their vows the day before. Happy and blessed, Rich and Emily got absolutely covered in a confetti. After some drinks in the gardens everyone moved to the Marquee for afternoon tea and speeches. Soon the sports day games began. Many guests were keen to participate and it was a great fun. Colourful headbands to wear as well as pink fairy wings and tutus. Awesome games to include egg and spoon, sack race, three legged race and more. With highly competitive input everyone gave 100% and the winners took pride on the podium.

The evening was officially open when Rich and Emily done their first dance. People were enjoying themselves, the band was playing and super delicious hog roast was also served. Extremaly relaxed atmosphere all day long. So many rainy days this summer and there we had, no rain at all! With many outdoor events at Rich and Emily’s wedding I must say, we were quite lucky with weather on the day.
